It's not an insoluable he said, she said, situation. It's more like "he said, she demolished." The men in this case didn't realize what they were up against in the person of V.W. Their pathetic little diversions to cover it up were pure amateur hour. How can anyone deny the logic, mapped out by Woodhull, that the ONLY reasonable explanation of events is simply that HWB was guilty? Not that the crime of adultery in this crowd should stretch credulity very much in the first place.
